Fritz Lang lanciò l’idea, dopodiché produttori e artisti vari (non solo nel cinema) la usarono per raccontare storie di mad doctors contornati da personaggi malvagi assortiti. Questo è quello che ha fatto Hugo Fregonese dopo aver preso in prestito le gesta del famoso dottore per costruire una spy-story, in linea con le produzioni di quel periodo ma con l’aggiunta di elementi fantastici.

Fritz Lang launched the idea, after which various producers and artists (not just in the cinema) used it to tell stories of mad doctors surrounded by assorted evil characters. This is what Hugo Fregonese did after borrowing the exploits of the famous doctor to build a spy-story, in line with the productions of that period but with the addition of fantastic elements.
