Stanlio e Ollio scoprono di avere due fratelli gemelli poco di buono, e decidono di tenere nascosta la cosa alle loro mogli. I gemelli, Alf e Bert, marinai, sbarcano proprio nella loro città all'insaputa dell'altra coppia. La confusione regna sovrana quando le due coppie di gemelli passano nella stessa locanda dove si fermano per mangiare - così Stanlio e Ollio vengono scambiati per i loro gemelli prima dal padrone della locanda - il quale da loro l'anello che Alf e Bert avevano lasciato in garanzia per pagare il conto - e poi dalle "amichette" dei marinai, scatenando la gelosia delle loro mogli. Quando la verità verrà a galla, i due rischiano di finire uccisi da un gangster interessato all'anello..ma fortunatamente arrivano Bert e Alfred..
