Arturo, film commedia diretto da Jason Winer, racconta la storia di Arthur Bach (Russell Brand), un ricco e potente scapolo d'oro, che ama trascorrere la sua vita tra donne, alcol e festini di ogni genere. Completamente dipendente dalla sua tata, nonostante sia ormai cresciuto, continua a mostrarsi inaffidabile agli occhi di tutti, soprattutto quelli dei suoi genitori. Così un giorno sua madre, minacciandolo di farlo fuori dall’eredità, lo costringe a frequentare Susan Johnson (Jennifer Garner), importante imprenditrice con una famiglia miliardaria. Il matrimonio tra i due rampolli frutterebbe a entrambi molti soldi. Inizialmente Arthur è restio; poi, per non perdere tutto, accetta di frequentare la ragazza. Man mano che la conosce, tuttavia, si accorge che non ha proprio nulla in comune con lei.
La situazione si complica quando per sbaglio un giorno incontra Naomi (Greta Gerwig), una guida turistica di origini umili che spera un giorno di poter pubblicare libri per bambini. L'uomo se ne innamora perdutamente e grazie a lei capirà quali sono le cose importanti che danno senso alla vita…
