Come un gatto in tangenziale 2 - Ritorno a Coccia di Morto, il film diretto da Riccardo Milani, è il secondo capitolo della commedia Come un gatto in tangenziale (2017), che vede protagonisti l'intellettuale radical chic Giovanni (Antonio Albanese) che vive nel centro storico di Roma e l'ex cassiera tatuata Monica (Paola Cortellesi), residente in periferia.
Le vicende si svolgono tre anni dopo la fine della storia d'amore tra Giovanni e Monica, che come i due avevano previsto ha avuto vita breve, è durata proprio come un gatto in tangenziale. Monica è finita in carcere, a causa delle gemelle. Le due avevano nascosto nei fusti dell'olio del locale diverse cose rubate, ma è Monica a finire nei guai. Per avere una speranza di uscire il prima possibile non può che rivolgersi a Giovanni. Quest'ultimo la tirerà fuori di prigione, ma a una condizione: Monica dovrà svolgere servizi sociali presso la comunità cattolica di San Basilio, dove incontrerà Don Davide (Luca Argentero), un sacerdote molto affascinante.
Le vite di Monica e Giovanni quindi si scontrano - invece che "incontrano" - di nuovo, ma come finirà questa volta? Ci sarà un riavvicinamento tra i due o Giovanni resterà insieme alla sua nuova fiamma, Camilla (Sarah Felberbaum)?
