La leggenda del cacciatore di vampiri, film horror prodotto e diretto da Timur Bekmambetov, racconta la storia di Abraham Lincoln (Benjamin Walker), un giovane brillante che un giorno guiderà gli Stati Uniti come presidente. Trascorre la sua adolescenza con i genitori Thomas (Joseph Mawle) e Nancy (Robin McLeavy) e tutto sembra andare bene, finché una notte vede qualcuno aggredire sua madre.
La donna, dopo essere stata male qualche giorno, alla fine muore e nessuno capisce quale sia la vera ragione. Credendo si tratti di morte da avvelenamento, Abraham confessa a Thomas di aver visto l’aggressore. In realtà, ad attaccarla è stato Jack Barts (Marton Csokas), un vampiro. Sebbene abbia promesso a suo padre di non vendicarsi, quando questi muore, il ragazzo decide di trovare l'assassino di sua madre e ucciderlo. Quando finalmente i due si incontrano, però, Lincoln scopre la vera natura del suo nemico. A salvarlo in quell’occasione è Henry Sturgess (Dominic Cooper), che non solo diventa suo amico, ma lo erudisce anche sulla storia dei vampiri, addestrandolo a combatterli. Riuscirà il ragazzo a vendicare la sua famiglia senza restare ucciso?
