Voyagers, film diretto da Neil Burger, è ambientato in un futuro prossimo, nel quale la razza umana è a rischio, e racconta la storia di un gruppo di 30 astronauti inviati nello spazio per una missione multi-generazionale. L'impresa avrebbe come scopo quello di trovare un nuovo pianeta abitabile, ma degenera totalmente quando l'equipaggio scopre di essere all'oscuro di alcuni segreti riguardati il loro addestramento. Tra questi vi è uno strano liquido blu che viene loro somministrato per atrofizzare i sensi.
Quando uno di loro inizia a ribellarsi a questa "terapia", realizza che la bevanda in realtà inibisce i loro istinti. Il giovane convince anche gli altri a non assumerla, portando il gruppo a esplorare i loro istinti primordiali fino a cadere in uno stato primitivo, che getta l'intera astronave nel caos. In preda a una crescente brama di potere e sesso e sempre più intimoriti, gli astronauti dovranno affrontare prima la minaccia più vicina, cioè loro stessi, e poi fare i conti con ciò che c'è al di fuori.
