Germania, 1957. Una cortina di reticenza e omertà è calata sui nazisti che si macchiarono di atroci crimini di guerra. E' lo Stato stesso a nascondere il suo terribile passato. Ma il procuratore Fritz Bauer non può accettare che uomini come Eichmann si godano la vita liberi e tranquilli. Per scovarlo attiva ogni possibile mezzo e fa di tutto. Perfino rivolgersi al Mossad israeliano. Alto tradimento o gesto estremo per scuotere le coscienze e ottenere giustizia?
