Il film comprende due episodi - Primo: Giulio, disegnatore di fumetti che vive da hippy e punk al limite della sopportazione per atteggiamenti e parolacce, passa un periodo di crisi creativa. Il suo editore gli fa incontrare una bionda fatina dolce e gentile, della quale il nostro si innamora, raccontando questo suo ... impossibile amore (titolo dell'episodio) in bellisime tavole colorate che gli procureranno soldi a palate e delusione sentimentale finale, dal momento che anche la fatina si svelerà come una moderna strega vagabonda. - Secondo: Sandro, distinto autore sessantenne di saggi e romanzi, ritrova dopo molti anni a Montecatini, dove si trova per la cura delle acque, una sua antica e ormai dimenticata fiamma, infelice madre di Daniela. Questa infatti non riesce ad avere normali rapporti con il fidanzato perché è vittima d'un trauma infantile: aveva assistito in tenera età alle effusioni della madre con "quello dal basco rosso" (titolo dell'episodio), che ora scopre essere proprio Sandro.
The film includes two episodes - First: Giulio, cartoonist who lives as a hippy and punk on the verge of endurance for attitudes and swear words, goes through a period of creative crisis. His publisher makes him meet a sweet and gentle blonde fairy, whom ours falls in love with, telling his ... impossible love (title of the episode) in beautiful colored tables that will give him money in spades and final sentimental disappointment, from moment that even the fairy is revealed as a modern vagabond witch. - Second: Sandro, a distinguished sixty-year-old author of essays and novels, finds himself after many years in Montecatini, where he finds an ancient and now forgotten flame for the care of water, unfortunate mother of Daniela. In fact, she cannot have normal relations with her boyfriend because she is the victim of a childhood trauma: she had witnessed at an early age the mother's effusions with "the one from the red beret" (title of the episode), which now turns out to be Sandro.
