Per festeggiare le loro nozze d'argento Cesare e Claudia Panelli fanno una gita a Napoli: li accompagnano i loro due figlioli, Alfredo e Marcella. Mentre i genitori s'attardano nel ristorante, che li ha visti giovani sposi, i due ragazzi vanno allo stadio per assistere alla partita di calcio. Trascinato dalla passione sportiva, Alfredo litiga con un giovane napoletano, Gennarino Esposito; i due si picchiano e finiscono al Commissariato. La cosa non avrebbe importanza se al commissariato non intervenissero i padri dei due giovani, Cesare e don Mimì, tra i quali s'accende una fiera rivalità.
To celebrate their silver wedding, Cesare and Claudia Panelli take a trip to Naples: their two children, Alfredo and Marcella, accompany them. While the parents linger in the restaurant, which saw them as young spouses, the two boys go to the stadium to watch the football match. Driven by the sporting passion, Alfredo argues with a young Neapolitan, Gennarino Esposito; the two beat each other and end up at the Commissariat. The matter would not matter if the fathers of the two young men, Cesare and Don Mimì, did not intervene in the police station, among whom a fierce rivalry arose.
