Il film si compone di alcuni episodi cuciti insieme da un personaggio-guida con la funzione di ironizzare sui vari aspetti della motorizzazione e dei motorizzati, e separati da alcuni "siparietti" che hanno come protagonista un vigile urbano. Dopo aver saputo che la sua automobile è la milionesima immatricolata a Roma, Alberto Bonucci decide di smettere di guidarla. Il suo rifiuto è motivato da vari episodi cui, uno dopo l'altro, si trova ad assistere. Due giovani sposi, che con molti sacrifici hanno comprato un'auto, se la vedono rubare nottetempo. Achille, dopo essere stato al cinema a vedere un film dell'orrore, trova nella sua macchina niente meno che un cadavere. Valentino chiude la sua auto lasciando per errore le chiavi sul cruscotto e, mentre tenta in qualche modo di aprirla, viene scambiato per un ladro. Infine Nino, dopo aver acconsentito ad aiutare il proprio capoufficio nel truffare l'assicurazione, mentre è alla guida, investi sulle strisce proprio Alberto Bonucci, diventato ormai un convinto pedone.
The film consists of some episodes stitched together by a guide-character with the function of ironizing on the various aspects of motorization and motorized, and separated by some "curtains" that have as their protagonist a traffic policeman. After having learned that his car is the millionth one registered in Rome, Alberto Bonucci decides to stop driving it. His refusal is motivated by various episodes which he is assisting one after the other. Two young married couples, who with many sacrifices bought a car, see it stealing at night. Achilles, after having been in the cinema to see a horror film, finds in his car nothing but a corpse. Valentino closes his car by accidentally leaving the keys on the dashboard and, while trying to open it, is mistaken for a thief. Finally Nino, after agreeing to help his boss in cheating insurance, while driving, invest on the stripes Alberto Bonucci, now become a convinced pedestrian.
