Una terza liceo, nel Centro di Roma, ai giorni nostri. Gli studenti dovrebbero prepararsi alla maturità; ma oltre all'insegnante di educazione fisica e alla supplente di storia e filosofia, non si vedono altri professori. Sempre e solo loro, gli studenti, a discutere non certamente di problemi scolastici ma di avventure sentimentali, spesso più sognate che reali. All'aula scolastica preferiscono il bar "Chewingum" all'aperto, dove, oltre ad ammirare il Colosseo, di fronte al quale si trova la scuola, possono scommettere sulla marca della prima macchina in arrivo. Alle avventure sentimentali incrociate, tra alunni e alunne della classe, non poteva non aggiungersi anche quella di uno studente innamorato - ma non corrisposto - della supplente di storia e filosofia. Arriva finalmente, anche per lo spettatore, il giorno della maturità, ma solo per preannunciare il grande banchetto finale d'addio d'una classe mai esistita come tale in tutto il film.
A third high school in the center of Rome, nowadays. Students should prepare for maturity; but besides the teacher of physical education and the substitute for history and philosophy, we do not see other professors. Always and only they, the students, to discuss certainly not of scholastic problems but of sentimental adventures, often more dreamed than real. At the schoolroom they prefer the outdoor bar "Chewingum", where, in addition to admiring the Colosseum, in front of which the school is located, they can bet on the brand of the first car on arrival. To the crossed emotional adventures, among pupils and students of the class, could not not add also that of a student in love - but not corresponded - of the substitute of history and philosophy. Finally arrives, even for the viewer, the day of maturity, but only to announce the great final farewell banquet of a class never existed as such throughout the film.
