Un giovane scienziato, il dott. Roberto Maldi, e la sua assistente Sandra fanno degli esperimenti con gli ormoni nello stabilimento sieroterapico del comm. Tassinetti: il fine, cui tendono è la produzione di un siero capace d'infondere il coraggio. Per misurare l'efficacia del preparato ottenuto il dott. Maldi ne trangugia una certa quantità; ma non ne risente alcun effetto. La sera stessa però, essendosi recato a teatro, Maldi osserva che tutte le donne, ch'egli avvicina, subiscano il fascino, che da lui emana. E' tra queste Doriana, la bella e giovane soubrette, amica del comm. Tassinetti. Quando se ne rende conto, il maturo industriale va su tutte le furie: vorrebbe chiudere il laboratorio scientifico e licenziare il dott. Maldi. Cambia idea però quando Sandra lo informa minutamente dei preziosi effetti del nuovo ritrovato, che ella ha potuto accertare osservando il comportamento del cappone-cavia. Tassinetti decide allora di iniziare la produzione su larga scala del nuovo siero, e per convincere i membri del consiglio d'amministrazione dell'opportunità della sua proposta distribuisce loro alcune fiale contenenti il miracoloso liquido. Il dott. Maldi vorrebbe sapere con maggior precisione in che modo si manifesta il misterioso fascino, ma Sandra gli fa notare che comunque l'effetto non dura che ventiquattr'ore. L'improvvisa morte del cappone-cavia desta in tutti gravi apprensioni; ma ben presto si verrà a sapere che l'animale è stato ucciso dall'inserviente, che voleva venderlo di nascosto a qualche massaia. Maldi però ha distrutto la formula del siero: egli sa che Sandra lo ama ed egli ne ricambia il sentimento, convinto che il vero amore è quello, che nasce da naturale, reciproca simpatia.
A young scientist, Dr. Roberto Maldi, and his assistant Sandra are doing hormone experiments at the serotyping plant of comm. Tassinetti: The end, to which they tend is the production of a serum capable of infusing courage. In order to measure the efficacy of the obtained preparation, Maldi shakes a certain amount; But it does not affect any effect. The sudden death of the capon-guinea pig is in all serious apprehensions; But soon you will come to know that the animal was killed by the servant, who wanted to sell it hidden to some housewife. But Maldi has destroyed the whey formula: he knows that Sandra loves him and he brings back the feeling, believing that true love is the one, born from natural, mutual sympathy.
