Nella stupenda Portovenere (La Spezia) si svolge la movimentata storia di Walter e Raffaele (Raf), l'uno romano, un po' bullo e pieno di sé, l'altro romantico e credulone. Walter è un sottufficiale di marina e Raf è un cuoco di bordo; diventano grandi amici ma sfortunatamente si innamorano, senza saperlo, della stessa ragazza Sonia, la quale chiaramente preferisce il più brillante Walter. La ragazza non ha il coraggio di rivelarlo a Raf il quale crede invece che ella lo ami alla follia. Sotterfugi e occhiate furtive nelle strane uscite a tre, finché tutto si scopre; Raf ci rimane malissimo, Walter anche non è affatto felice per rispetto dell'amico, quindi Sonia fugge da entrambi. Lontananza benefica per tutti? No, Sonia pensa sempre a Walter nonostante l'attaccamento di Raf per lei. Infine la ragazza e il bel marinaio si rivedono, credono di potersi amare per sempre ma c'è il grosso ostacolo di Raf che non si rassegna. Nuovo e definitivo abbandono, ognuno va per la sua strada. Dopo anni si rivedono i due amici, entrambi ancora liberi e infatuati di Sonia che ha finalmente raggiunto il suo sogno di diventare una "grande" attrice.
In the beautiful Portovenere (La Spezia) there is the eventful story of Walter and Raffaele (Raf), one Roman, a bit 'bully and full of himself, the other romantic and gullible.
