Vicenda tratta dal diario del giornalista L G. Bucheim imbarcato nel 1941 sul sommergibile nazista U-Boot 96 diretto ad affondare convogli negli Stati Uniti. Dopo interminabili giorni di navigazione il sommergibile intercetta un convoglio, affonda due nazi ma viene attaccato da un cacciatorpediniere. Riparati i danni nel porto neutrale di Vioto (Spagna) il sommergibile riceve l'ordine di raggiungere La Spezia, in Italia. Attaccato dagli aerei alleati nello stretto di Gibilterra il sottomarino quasi affonda, poi torna indietro fino alla base aerea di La Rochelle dove, proprio quando sta facendo il suo ingresso trionfale, viene distrutto dagli aerei alleati.
Story comes from the diary of the journalist G. L Bucheim embarked in 1941 on the submarine Nazi U-boats to sink 96 direct trains in the United States. After endless days of sailing the submarine intercepted a convoy, sinking two Nazi but is attacked by a destroyer. Repaired the damage in the neutral port of Vioto (Spain) the submarine receives the order to reach La Spezia, Italy. Attacked by Allied planes in the Strait of Gibraltar nearly sinking the submarine, then come back to the air base of La Rochelle where, just when it is making its grand entrance, is destroyed by Allied planes.
