Trama: A public housing tenement is plunged into a dark storm of supernatural chaos.

Siu-ho, ex attore cacciatore di vampiri, si ritrova a essere una star in declino, separato dalla moglie e alienato da suo figlio. In preda allo sconforto e con appena un dollaro sul suo conto, Siu-ho decide di farla finita recandosi nella stanza 2442 di un complesso residenziale che si dice essere infestato dai fantasmi. Prima di raggiungere il suo scopo, Siu-ho viene interrotto dagli altri "occupanti" del palazzo, tra cui un maestro esorcista taoista, una casalinga traumatizzata da un tragico passato e un'anziana donna apparentemente buona che ha una bara vuota vistosamente appesa al centro del suo appartamento.
