Wendy Darling è una ragazzina di Londra che divide la stanza con i suoi due fratelli minori, Gianni e Michele. Essi, in assenza dei genitori, vengono accuditi dal loro cane Nana. Ormai stufo di tutto questo, il padre di Wendy, Agenore Darling, decide che ora sua figlia deve diventare adulta e quindi le fa cambiare stanza. Quella notte, mentre i signori Darling sono ad una festa, Peter Pan entra nella stanza dei bambini, insieme alla sua fatina Trilli, la quale si rivelerà molto gelosa nei confronti di Wendy. Peter Pan è in cerca della sua ombra persa qualche giorno prima per colpa di Nana. Dopo la sua frenetica ricerca, Wendy gli cuce l'ombra e Peter le chiede di venire con lui fino all'Isola che non c'è, dove lei potrà raccontare le favole ed essere la mamma dei Bimbi Sperduti. Wendy accetta e porta con sé anche Gianni e Michele, dopodiché grazie alla polvere magica di Trilli, volano tutti all'Isola che non c'è.
