Bobby Darin, nome d'arte di Walden Robert Cassotto (New York, 14 maggio 1936 – Los Angeles, 20 dicembre 1973), è stato un cantante e attore statunitense, di origini italo-americane.
Viene considerato uno dei maggiori interpreti di musica leggera di stampo USA in attività tra la fine degli anni cinquanta e anni sessanta.
Originario del Bronx, cresciuto in una famiglia italo - americana del proletariato newyorkese, un'infanzia minata da una cattiva salute (contrasse una grave forma di febbre reumatica all'età di otto anni) riscattò un'adolescenza difficile con il talento di cantante dotato di una voce calda e carezzevole. Aveva un repertorio che spaziava dalla musica swing, al jazz, al country, al pop.
Il successo su scala internazionale gli arrise con l'interpretazione di canzoni destinate a diventare degli standard, come Beyond the Sea e, soprattutto, Mack the Knife (dalla commedia satirica del 1929 L'opera da tre soldi musicata da Kurt Weill su testo di Bertolt Brecht), diventata il suo cavallo di battaglia e incisa nuovamente nel 1984 da Frank Sinatra in una cover diventata ugualmente celebre. Proprio per questa canzone Darin era stato premiato, nel 1960, con un Grammy Award.
