Film d’animazione realizzato in computer grafica, Star Wars: The Clone Wars è situato nella cronologia di Star Wars tra Episodio II - Attacco dei cloni ed Episodio III - La vendetta dei Sith. Seguiremo quindi i giovani Anakin Skywalker ed Obi-Wan Cenobi nel loro viaggio attraverso la galassia, nel mezzo della Guerra dei Cloni, e li vedremo fare conoscenza con personaggi che abbiamo già conosciuto nei film in live action come il Conte Dooku, il Generale Grievous e Asajj Ventress. Un personaggio completamente nuovo che incontreremo in Star Wars: The Clone Wars è invece Ahsoka Tano, la giovane apprendista Jedi di Anakin. Star Wars: The Clone Wars farà da introduzione ad una serie animata prodotta per la televisione e composta da oltre 100 episodi che andrà in onda negli Stati Uniti a partire dall’autunno del 2008.
